Are these 82 additional staff positions really helping our Community or just costing Homeowners a lot more in HOA dues?
We now have 82 additional staff people in our HOA that we have to pay for. The General Mgr. arrived in 2016. He increased our staff by 58%!
Why do we need so many extra employees? Are we run any better for it? Is this sustainable?
CAI General Manager salaries are based on the number of employees they manage. The previous General Mgr. who was a Gold Member, most likely boosted our employee count to boost his Gold Member salary.
What is the CAI? It stands for the Community Associations Institute, a self appointed HOA trade organization (not a labor union) consisting of merchants who make their livings from homeowner association's dues, such as lawyers, managers, builders, developers, architects, accountants and various service providers to HOAs. SCOV was unfortunately converted to a CAI community by the Board, around the time when Wade arrived a decade ago.
Is it time for our new General Manager to make changes and be truthful about what she sees here?
