The Board had recently posted last week (Sun Jan 25 & Wed Jan 28) on the community's website certain 'Board Messages' that were dated last year as well as 3 years ago. Three pertain to Copper, two are about Board powers. Why would this be done? Perhaps they are anticipating the 2026 Election period and want to stress to campaigning Candidates and Voters the notion that they, through their power, intend at all costs, to move forward with 3 year old, previously proposed high-priced floor plan renovations for Copper, regardless of new and currently shifting resident needs?
NOTE: 'Board Messages' were often during that period, emailed to residents as rebuttals to the questions and concerns addressed by residents, of their actions.
The 5 messages are listed under the 'Messages from the Board' section, as noted below. Some if not most of the information they contain are not accurate at this point in time. Things like our current money status, votes by residents that voted down board requests (e.g., assessments) and state legislature have invalidated the information.

One message posted on Jan 25, 2026, a 3 year old letter from the former GM titled, "Unauthorized Email" (refer to .pdf below) should be of concern to resident voters. This blog comments on that one in particular. It was written in regard to the Nov 2021 engineer's report (discovered by a resident via an ARS #33-1805 records request) on the condition of the Welcome Center. The report was completed one year prior to the purchase of Copper, which stated the Welcome Center as "not having any structural issues".
But, the notion that the Welcome Center was in bad condition and in need of razing was one of the main reasons the Board had (highly) promoted buying Copper. The Welcome Center's Admin. offices were to relocate to Copper, so pickleball courts could be built in its place. There were even numerical spreadsheets shown to residents on the money that would be saved once the Welcome Center was demolished.

This GM's letter goes on to reprimand a group of residents who had forwarded the engineer's report in emails, prior to the new vote to sell Copper, informing everyone that the building was bought under false pretenses. And they were correct, but he tries hard to falsify the truth on the matter. He also claims this group of residents were attempting with rhetoric,"to typify the Board as incompetent, liars and manipulative". The information from these residents however revealed facts providing evidence our Community was given false information during the time of the Copper vote promotion, and were most likely intentionally misled. Read the letter attached, it's quite telling of a damaging operational management style.
The question to wonder is: WHY was this old letter posted last week under 'Messages from the Board'? Could they be apprehensive that their '2026 Board Ballot Initiatives' which considerably alter our governing documents, are being evaluated by residents as misleading and unfair to the Community? Or is the message they are charging through, regardless of money issues, with outdated plans for Copper that cost too much (as opposed to re-evaluating them for more cost-effective solutions)? Could it be a message to ignore concerned residents who were quoted by the previous GM as: "plotting strategies on how to disrupt the Community and influence residents"?
No strategies are involved Mr. 'long gone' GM, just TRUTHFUL FACT-TELLING.
And the facts today advise residents to:
VOTE NO on all 2026 Board Ballot Initiatives
